About Us
A diverse group of about a dozen local people with an interest in Civil War history formed the Kent Civil War Society in 1991. While some of our members are re-enactors, we are not a re-enactment group, but rather an independent non-profit organization dedicated to all aspects of the conflict. We have no ties with any national groups.
Programs presented at the regular meetings by guest speakers or fellow members cover a variety of Civil War related topics.
The June and December meetings are "members-only". They feature pot-luck dinners, socializing and special activities such as book auctions, period music or living history demonstrations.
